Do you tell the current team before your child goes to a trial?

Question

My U11 has been offered a trial with another club. I'm also involved with his current team, which makes it feel a bit awkward. I don't want it to look secretive, but I also don't want to make a huge announcement about something that might go nowhere. When would you tell the coach and what would you actually say?
