The Coaches' Room

OUR COACHES

REAL COACHES.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE.
PRIVATE IDENTITIES.

The Coaches' Room is built around the quality of the answer — not the profile of the person giving it.

Our coaching team includes coaches with recognised qualifications and experience across different formats, age groups and areas of football.

We deliberately don't publish their names, photographs, clubs, employers, personal contact details or social-media accounts. That is a conscious decision.

THE COACHES' ROOM IS SOMEWHERE VERIFIED COACHES COME TO HELP THE FOOTBALL COMMUNITY — NOT SOMEWHERE THEY COME TO BUILD A FOLLOWING OR PROMOTE THEMSELVES.

WHY ARE VERIFIED COACH DETAILS PRIVATE?

We know this is different from most coaching platforms.

Usually, credibility is built around a name, photograph, club badge and long biography. We've chosen another approach.

When someone contributes to The Coaches' Room as a Verified Coach, we verify who they are and their qualifications privately. Their real identity and relevant coaching information remain within our internal system and are checked before approval.

Verified Coaches use a private public profile. Publicly, we show the information that actually matters to the question you're reading — such as their qualification, relevant experience, game-format knowledge and coaching specialisms — without exposing their personal identity.

This protects the privacy of our coaches while keeping conversations focused on football.

It also means a coach cannot use The Coaches' Room to repeatedly advertise their own academy, private coaching business, social channels or services.

THE COACHING INSIGHT.
WITHOUT THE SALES PITCH.

WHAT WILL YOU SEE?

When a Verified Coach answers a question, you'll see the coaching information relevant to the answer — not their private identity.

The coach's response appears here — practical, relevant and focused on the question.

You won't see their real name underneath.

You won't see links asking you to follow them elsewhere.

And you won't need to know which club they work for to decide whether the answer is useful.

Their advice should stand on its own.

WHAT DOES "VERIFIED COACH" MEAN?

A normal Coaches' Room member can take part in conversations and share their own experiences.

A Verified Coach is different.

Verified Coach status is controlled by The Coaches' Room. It isn't something a member can simply add to their own profile.

Before somebody contributes in this capacity, we verify their identity and qualifications privately and make sure they are suitable for the areas in which they will be asked to contribute.

Verified Coaches use a private public profile. The Coaches' Room knows their real identity and has checked their qualifications, but their personal name, club and contact details are not shown on public responses. Public responses show relevant coaching information such as their qualification and football specialisms.

Their internal profile can include their qualifications, coaching experience, formats, age groups and specialist areas.

That information then helps us decide which questions are most relevant to them.

THE RIGHT COACH FOR THE QUESTION.

Not every coach should answer every question.

A coach whose experience centres around foundation-phase football may be very well placed to discuss a 5v5 player-development problem.

Another coach may have stronger experience in 11v11 tactical organisation.

Another may bring knowledge around talent identification, confidence or psychology.

So rather than simply sending every question to the same person, we use the information held within our coaching profiles to help identify coaches whose experience is relevant to what is being asked.

YOU ASK THE QUESTION.
WE HELP FIND THE RIGHT COACH.

The aim is relevance — not simply choosing whoever holds the highest qualification.

QUALIFICATIONS MATTER.
EXPERIENCE MATTERS TOO.

A qualification can tell you something about a coach. It doesn't tell you everything.

Different environments require different kinds of experience.

Grassroots football can involve limited training time, mixed abilities and volunteer coaching teams.

Development environments may bring different expectations.

11v11 football creates tactical problems that simply don't exist in 5v5.

Adult football is different again.

That's why we consider more than the qualification written next to someone's response. We look at the areas they actually understand and the type of questions they are best placed to help with.

DIFFERENT COACHES.
DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES.

Football isn't a subject where every good coach gives exactly the same answer. We don't want that.

One coach may look at a problem tactically.

Another may look first at the players' decision making.

Another might question the design of the practice.

Someone else may focus on communication, confidence or whether the players actually understand what is being asked of them.

That variety matters.

The Coaches' Room isn't designed to tell you: "THIS IS THE ONLY CORRECT WAY." It's designed to give you a useful, informed perspective that helps you think about your own team.

HOW WE EXPECT OUR COACHES TO ANSWER.

We want Coaches' Room responses to feel like one coach helping another.

Not a lecture. Not a textbook. Not an opportunity to show how much somebody knows.

Our Verified Coaches are expected to provide answers that are practical, relevant to the question and respectful of the environment the coach is working in.

Where appropriate, we want them to explain why they would consider something rather than simply telling another coach what to do.

And if there are several reasonable approaches, we're comfortable saying that too.

WE AIM TO RESPOND WITHIN 12 HOURS.It's an aim, not a guaranteed deadline.

NO SELF-PROMOTION.

This is an important part of The Coaches' Room.

Verified Coach responses are not advertising space.

We do not want answers turning into:

  • "Follow my Instagram.
  • "Join my academy.
  • "Book a session with me.
  • "Message me privately.

The focus stays on answering the football question.

That's better for the person asking and better for the wider community reading the conversation later.

WHY THE PRIVACY MATTERS.

Our coaches give their time and experience to help the community.

Every Verified Coach is known to The Coaches' Room and their qualifications are checked before approval. Keeping their personal identities private helps create a clear boundary between contributing inside The Coaches' Room and their life outside it.

It also removes some of the status that can influence online coaching conversations.

Instead of thinking: "Who does this person work for?"

we would rather you think: "Does this answer help me understand the problem differently?"

That's ultimately what matters.

THE ROOM ISN'T ONLY FOR VERIFIED COACHES.

The wider community matters too.

You do not need an advanced qualification to contribute to a useful coaching conversation.

Grassroots coaches, new coaches and experienced coaches will all have situations they've experienced firsthand.

That's why community replies remain part of The Coaches' Room.

The difference is that when someone wants a human perspective, they can put the same question directly in front of a UEFA-licensed Verified Coach rather than simply posting and hoping the right person sees it.

COULD YOU HELP THE ROOM?

WE'RE ALWAYS INTERESTED IN GOOD COACHES.

As The Coaches' Room grows, we'll need more people who genuinely enjoy helping the football community.

That doesn't mean we're only interested in the coach with the longest CV.

We're interested in people who can communicate clearly, understand the environments they coach in and share ideas without making everything about themselves.

Some coaches may initially join as members of the community.

More experienced or appropriately qualified coaches may also be considered for Verified Coach status.

If you think you could contribute, we'd like to hear from you.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Recognised coaching qualifications where relevant
  • Genuine practical coaching experience
  • Clear communication
  • Age and format-appropriate thinking
  • Willingness to explain why
  • Respect for different coaching environments
  • Constructive feedback
  • Reliability
  • Ability to discuss rather than lecture
  • Genuine desire to help the football community
  • No expectation of using The Coaches' Room for personal promotion

EXPERIENCE MATTERS. SO DOES HOW YOU SHARE IT.

GOOD ADVICE DOESN'T NEED A FOLLOW BUTTON.

The Coaches' Room exists to help people across football ask better questions, hear different perspectives and make better-informed decisions.

Our coaches are here to contribute to that. Nothing more needs to get in the way.
