My U8 keeps asking why nobody passes to him

After games he gets fixated on how many times teammates passed to him. I don't want to start analysing other children with him in the car. What would you say instead?

When we look across the month rather than a single match, U8 football is about building a connection with the ball, not tracking individual stats. Your player is seeking external validation, which is common when they lose sight of their own development. Instead of analyzing teammates, shift the focus back to him: ask, 'What is one thing you did well with the ball today?' or 'What can we try in training to help you find space?' Encourage him to measure his progress by his own actions—like his effort in defending or a successful dribble—rather than the frequency of passes received. Improvement looks like a player who feels empowered to influence the game through his own movement and decision-making, regardless of what the rest of the team is doing in that moment.
