How involved should the grassroots coach be with a player's development-centre work?

One of our U10s trains at a development centre as well as with us. I don't want to interrogate him every week about what they did or start copying their sessions, but it would be useful to know if he's being asked to work on something specific. Do you normally speak to the parent, ask the player occasionally, or just treat the two environments separately?
