Twenty-five minutes is usually too much time to behave as though the final attack has arrived.
Going 1-0 down changes the score, but it does not automatically mean the structure that kept you competitive has failed. I’d first ask what actually needs changing. Do you need more width, a player closer to the striker, a higher press, or simply more patience in possession?
Increase risk in stages.
You might release one full-back more aggressively before sending both. You might ask an 8 to arrive higher rather than moving the 6 away from the protection behind the ball.
Train different score-and-time scenarios so players see that 1-0 down with 25 minutes left is different from 1-0 down with three.
At U16, game management is partly learning that urgency and chaos are not the same thing.
You can chase the game while still keeping enough structure to create another ten attacks rather than one desperate attack.
