I would answer them, but I would use the question to build awareness.
If they ask the score, tell them. Then ask: “Does that change what the game needs?”
If they ask how long is left, tell them roughly rather than pretending the clock does not exist.
At U11, game state is part of football. The danger is when the score becomes the only information they use.
A team one goal down might need patience, not panic. A team ahead might still have a clear chance to attack rather than automatically slowing everything down.
I would rather teach them to use score and time sensibly than hide both.
The coach can keep bringing them back to the next football decision instead of the scoreboard becoming an instruction by itself.
